Keep it up Brad! Good rule on water is to divide your weight in half and that is the amount of oz. of water to aim for daily. Also, add a zero to end end of your goal weight and that is your calorie cap. I'm trying this myself. Very tough! But the results will be worth it.
I'm using an app called Lose It! for Android, it's a food log that lets you set your body stats and it sets you a daily calorie goal. You can customize that goal once it's set, but I'm going with the defaults. Besides logging your meals, you can also log exercise. It's pretty cool, and it's free.
I use a combination of a Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to track my stuff. The Fitbit is a pedometer, so it tracks your steps. Then when it syncs (with your phone or USB dongle on PC depending on the Fitbit you have) it takes the calories burned from walking and automatically sends it to MyFitnessPal.
Then you enter in all foods and non-walking exercise in that and it does all the calcs and such that LoseIt does.
I like MFP as it has a barcode scanner that if you have a pre-packaged meal (Healthy Choice Dinners, etc) you scan the UPC and Voila, it enters everything for you.
I tried MyFitnessPal, and I hated the UI and popup ads. I can't afford extra devices right now, like a Fitbit, so I might find a accelerometer-powered pedometer.
I use LoseIt!, which also has a bar code scanner, a much larger food database than MFP, and can sync with external devices if you upgrade (no syncing with the free version). No ads, and a much cleaner and intuitive interface for my purposes.
