005 More of the Same

Still had 600+ calories to eat by around 11:30 pm last night. I made some whole grain pasta with a bit of butter and garlic and Parmesan. Filled the void, slow carbs, and still finished the day under calories. I failed to drink enough water, though, and it shows in the +.6 lbs weight gain, which is most likely water retention.

  1. Are you sure weighing yourself daily is good for you? Everyone is different of course, but it might be better to stay off the scales and just go once a week. It'll be easier to spot a trend. For me at least my weight can vary a pound or more day to day *easily*, but the difference over a longer time shows which way I really am heading.

    I probably shouldn't, but the scale is right here, and I can't resist it. Even if I didn't report it each day, I'd still succumb to the temptation to weigh several days per week, so I might as well post the results.

    So far, since I started counting calories on Dec 10, 2012, I've lost 5 lbs that I've kept off. I peaked at 10 pounds down before Christmas, but yo-yo'd back up 5 with the holiday splurges.

    Overall, my trend is downwards, but my weekly curve is basically flat since mid-December. So, the little daily triumphs and setbacks are a lot more interesting to look at, for me.
